About Paula
MSc, BSc (Hons), PG Dip, PG Cert, MBPsS, MBACP
Paula is an experienced Counselling Psychotherapist who has been supporting individuals, couples and families in her private practice in Putney, South West London since 2012. She offers counselling, CBT, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy in a calm, collaborative and compassionate way. Alongside her private work, she is the Psychological Director at Shoorah, the Family and Carer Support Lead at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and has contributed to clinical research at King’s College London. She also has practised at a well-established Harley Street clinic.
Paula works with adults, children, adolescents and couples, and has particular experience in anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, IBS (gut-directed therapy), addiction, trauma, sleep difficulties and relationship challenges. She takes an integrative, evidence-based approach, drawing on CBT, ACT, DBT, CFT, mindfulness, neuroscience and psychodynamic therapy. She also works closely with schools across Southwest and Central London, supporting young people (8–18), parents, and teachers.
As a clinical hypnotherapist since 2011, Paula integrates hypnotherapy with psychological therapy to support lasting change. She has developed programmes for a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, IBS, sleep disorders, addiction, trauma, weight management, hypnobirthing and menopause-related symptoms.

Within the NHS, Paula leads family and carer support for individuals experiencing psychosis, bipolar disorder and personality disorders. Her experience also

includes working in CAMHS services (Michael Rutter Centre and Snowfields, SLaM), supporting adolescents with complex trauma and acute mental health needs, as well as working with individuals facing severe mental illness and addiction within homeless communities.
Paula has a strong academic background, including an MSc in Psychological Therapies, a PG Diploma in Psychology (Child, Social and Cognitive), a PG Certificate in CBT for Psychosis, and a BSc (Hons) in Management Science (Occupational Psychology), alongside a PG Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy. Her training includes the University of Manchester, King’s College London, University of Westminster, City St George’s, University of London, with additional doctoral-level (Level 8) training in supervision, couples work, research and psychometrics.

Before retraining, Paula worked as a Chartered Financial Consultant in the City of London for eight years. She also has a strong sporting background as a regional and county U18 gymnast and an England badminton player.
Paula has also helped me manage my stress and anxiety, which were contributing to my symptoms. IBS no longer dictates my life, and I am a much happier and more relaxed person. I could not recommend her more.
